So in today news thieves have been targeting car dealership and salvage yards in search of air bags. 16 cars have been hit lately in Charlotte at car dealership. There were about 5 cars that were broken into at a salvage yard in China Grove.

Police valued each of these air bags at $800 a piece and a grand total of $12,800. No wonder these thieves are hitting up every lot for airbags.It was in a secure area. They broke into the back, they cut the fence and went in. Unfortunately, that's not uncommon,” said Sgt. Bill Booth, of the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department.The same crime happened in Rowan County. The Copart Salvage Yard had five airbags taken from vehicles. Their total loss according to a police report was $3,500.
