Earlier this week, I had the opportunity to test drive the new Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric tires. They were first released in Europe but they have finally made their way to US soil and should be available at your local or online Goodyear dealer. To say the tires performed well is an understatement. After driving through a quiet, well-paved and challenging highway in the canyons of Southern California, there wasn?t one instance where I felt danger or risk. The test vehicles were three new European car models. My personal favorite was an Audi TT 3.2 liter. The car was nimble and easily maneuverable thanks to a quality Audi chassis and grippy tires. The way these new tires work is that it uses ?Active Grip Technology? which helps keep the contact patch of the tire square on the pavement during cornering. Of course the more tire you have on the ground, the better grip you have and this technology was easily identifiable during driving. For the full report on these tires including more photos, stay tuned for a future issue of eurotuner. -SD
