At the first look, the new Golf reuses several elements of the Scirocco.
Some exciting news about the new Golf is that it’s said to be cheaper to build than the Mk5. There’s no word yet on a Mk6 Jetta nor an R model but we suspect that information to follow shortly. It’s also a possibility the new chassis will be manufactured in VW’s new plant in Chattanooga, TN.
Europe will see the Golf as early as January with fuel and diesel models available. US model and sale information has yet to be released but expect to wait. Most previous generation Golfs/Rabbits were introduced in the US one or two years after Europe.
