Last Saturday, March 7th in Orange County, CA, nearly 400 Euros collided at Oakley Headquarters.

The event was in honor of carbon fiber specialist Vorsteiner (www.vorsteiner.com), who’s known around the scene for offering great parts for BMW, Mercedes and Porsche. There’s no question, many of our past feature cars sport the Vorsteiner product line such as Jayare Marquez’ BMW M3 (et 3/09), Anderson Tan’s BMW 335i (et 3/09), Hunter Wright’s BMW 325i (et 1/09) and Michael Correa’s BMW M3 (et 11/08). At last weekend’s gathering, Vorsteiner introduced its new 3-piece fored wheel featuring angular directional centers for Porsche. They also had plenty of carbon parts on display for the new E90 and E92 M3, plus a gorgeous Porsche 997 body kit, all in carbon!

The event wasn’t just about Vorsteiner though as plenty of vendors showed up to support including KW Suspension and Brembo Brakes. In the parking lot, there was a surprising amount of E90 M3s. There was also a presidential display of exotics from Lamborghini Murciellagos, Gallardos and LP560. An R8 and a handful of Ferraris were on display as well…

Perhaps what everyone looked forward to were the freebies though. In-N-Out food brought its own truckload of food for guests, and the raffle prizes were worth waiting all day for which included E90 carbon trunk lids, Oakley glasses and an autographed helmet by pro skate boarder Bucky Lasek.
Overall it was a great event and a good sign of things to come for the summer show season. For example, the organizers from M-Fest were there to preview its April 10-12 event in Las Vegas which will include a much anticipated track day at Spring Mountain Raceway (www.mfest.net). So our hats go off to Vorsteiner as we welcome one of the first successful Euro gatherings for ’09. See you at the next event!
