In the April 2009 issue of eurotuner we brought you the exclusive story of Andreas Martinsson’s 770hp Audi 80. Although the Stockholm resident might not have the tidiest car we’ve ever featured, it’s perhaps one of the wildest.
The story reached us from YouTube, where the owner’s antics had become legendary at the wheel of his 1984 Audi 80 quattro.
The 2.2 liter five-cylinder motor had been extensively strengthened internally and was capable of reaching 8500rpm and withstanding 38psi boost pressure from a turbo originally found in a Caterpillar earth-mover. Running on E85 ethanol, Andreas claims 770 wheel horsepower from the motor and is able to cover the quarter mile in 9.75sec, although traction is still a problem.
However, the crazy Swede has put this to good use by drifting his car at various events in Sweden and gaining an underground reputation in the process.
If you want to see the Audi in action, log on to YouTube and witness the madness. Alternatively, you can paste this link into your browser and then enjoy other clips from there:
