The best weather in many years greeted visitors to Waterfest 15 today, Saturday July 18. With plenty of sunshine, pleasant temperatures, a cool breeze and low humidity, it seemed to put everybody in a good mood. And the thousands who did make the pilgrimage to Englishtown, NJ’s Raceway Park were treated to a festival of the best VW show cars, drag racers and tuners. At eurotuner magazine, we spent the day wandering the vendor area looking for new products and cars. We were delighted to find some real gems, and those will be revealed in full in the October 2009 issue of eurotuner magazine.

Among my favorite cars was the 370hp Mk6 Golf GTI from VWoA. This is one of only four cars in the country and had been equipped with a complete APR stage 3 conversion including a carbon intake, FMIC and exhaust. The car also had a Sachs suspension kit and Alcon four-piston calipers with 355mm front rotors. The car had an interesting choice of wheels, with black BBS on one side, silver VMR wheels on the other. Another of our favorites was a hardcore B6 Audi S4 in the Unitronic booth. We weren’t able to get full details yet but will be going back tomorrow for a closer look. It seemed to have a slightly wider stance and may have a wider fender. It also wore a carbon CSL-style trunk, carbon door blades and a deep splitter. Tuned with Unitronic software and a suitably huge exhaust system, we’re promised the car sounds as good as it looks. The reason we highlighted this S4 is because it’s one of those cars you don’t see often. And when you do, they usually miss the mark. Yet the owner of this car seemed to have hit the spot, giving it the perfect stance. See these cars and 50-60 others, including all the stunning Golfs and Jettas we’ve not mentioned here in the October 2009 issue of eurotuner magazine. Greg
