On the weekend of May 2, thousands of BMW owners congregated for the annual Bimmerfest show in Santa, Barbara, CA. This year was a treat for attendees as the venue moved to the larger and cleaner Santa Barbara Polo & Racquet Club to accommodate the massiveness this event has become.
The finely trimmed grass along with the picturesque hills behind it proved to be the ultimate showground for a BMW event of this caliber.
From classics to E90 M3s and even a restored Isetta were on display. The diverse crowd brought a special feeling across all owners. Everyone was there to celebrate the cars they love most without any animosity towards each other.
And just to show you how far this event has come, BMW of North America finally took notice and publicly debut the new ’10 Z4. Stay tuned for a full report on our first drive.
As far as tuning go, there has never been a better display of BMW specialists from Active Autowerke, VF Engineering, ESS Tuning, Ireland Engineering, Gintani and more. Even tire manufacturers showed their support such as Falken and Nitto.
Overall, Bimmerfest proved once again, it’s the BMW event for all BMW owners, big or small, old or new, stock or modified. Check out our full report with the best cars and newest parts in the August ’09 issue.
