There’s an old joke about how companies spend millions of dollars conceiving a new logo and even more money to implement it across the branding, only for it to look exactly like the old one… Well, Audi is set to change its logo this week. It claims to have reworked its famous interlocking rings logo and the Audi ‘identifier’ lettering beneath it. This is an attempt to remodel its corporate identity for the first time since 1995.
According to Audi, the new look has been achieved through the adoption of a clean and modern new font for the Audi script and a more imposing new 3D treatment of the four rings.
We’ve included the old logo for reference, but feel it’s a shame they’ve abandoned the distinctive typeface of the older lettering in favor of the rather bland new font.
