Berlin-based Mercedes tuner MEC Design has release a preview of its proposed styling package for the new Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG supercar.
The SLS AMG has already become a classic even before its release next year. And with so much hype surrounding this incredible machine, MEC Design has released several design studies showing how the SLS might look once they’ve got their hands on one.
MEC Design is known for its extreme tuning, and these illustrations prove they’re not afraid to have a go. The first study in red shows the Mercedes star now sits above the grille, reminiscent of the Mercedes SLR McLaren, which it’s replacing. The study also features a new front bumper with a deep mesh grille and curved air inlets. The side skirts have been deepened and feature the MEC Design lighting system which is turned on or the doors are opened. The SLS is finished with three-piece 22” mecxtremeIII wheels.
The second study in silver shows the distinctive gullwing doors of the SLS AMG. You can also see the MEC rear diffuser and a rear spoiler finishes off the optics plus the oval chrome tips of the MEC Design exhaust system.
The third image in yellow is similar to the red car and has been finished with 22” mecxtremeI wheels.
Apparently, it’s not been decided whether these studies will be the final design or whether MEC Design will produce a small-batch production version, but it certainly looks like there are plenty of plans for the SLS AMG when it finally arrives.
