For those of us who take our automotive enthusiasm to the extreme, or who simply wish to outdo their golfing buddies, Danish designer Anders Lynge has penned the Garia. It’s described as as a luxury golf car. And when they say car, it’s because it’s built in the Valmet Automotive factory in Finland factory responsible for production of the Porsche Cayman and Boxster. What’s more, it will be available in the US in 2010 at a street-legal LSV (Low Speed Vehicle).
The Garia is said to follow the Scandinavian tradition of clear-cut and classic lines combined with functionality. Yet it’s also built to the highest automotive standards with double wishbone front suspension inspired by F1 cars. The drivetrain is built by the Italian company responsible for Ducati gearboxes, while the aluminum panels are made by the company that supplies Aston Martin, Jaguar and Volvo. Furthermore, it has hydraulic brakes on all four wheels, with discs in the front and drums at the rear.
Top it all off, there’s a built-in refrigerator, hand-stitched seats and a personalization program that includes custom paint colors. In fact, you can vist the website at garia.dk and design it in any color, with racing stripes, 12” wheels, etc. No prices are available yet, but the Garia will be launched at the Geneva Auto Show in March 2010, so expect to discover more at that time.
