Two years ago, HPA Motorsports took home the gold at our annual eurotuner Tuner GP with its 2004 VW R32 twin-turbo. The AWD hatchback using 91-octane fuel surprised the field by posting the most consistent results making it the overall winner, Best AWD car and scoring the fastest quarter-mile time. Since etGP, HPA has been quiet until now…
This month, HPA will be taking three DSG-equipped, twin-turbo VR6 VWs to the Texas Mile event. Competitors run their cars from a standing start over a full mile track to determine their top speed.
The star of the event will undoubtedly be HPA’s 2010 VW Scirocco. Imported to its Canadian workshops, the FWD car has been stripped of its 2.0T and fitted with HPA’s signature twin-turbo 3.2 liter VR6 capable of 565hp as well as an all-wheel drive system to cope with the power. The company is hoping to sell similar cars to a limited number of customers this year.
Aside from the Scirocco, HPA will have two R32s at the event. Look for Texas Mile results at eurotuner.com
