Get My Coffee! - Week 10

eurotuner Intern part 10

While I do not want to say last week was just another week at the office, because things are always a little different around here, the “excitement” of the week definitely did not come from inside the building. More on that in a moment...

Sam and I brought project Passat (see previous blogs) to the photo studio to capture some final photos. I was never a huge fan of the Passats, but with the drop and an awesome VW body kit, the car has grown on me – it could be a great cruiser with tunes blasting, a deep exhaust note, the wind running through my hair… Ha.

In other news, I worked on a story for a very clean Mk4 GTI that will be in the October issue.

Closing the September issue, however, I witnessed my first “power struggle” at the office. Some of the managers didn’t like the cover we had put together. After some negotiations and reworking, we came up with something that looks pretty good, maybe even better than it was before… That issue should be on stands in the next month or so.

Now to the excitement I was talking about. On the way to cover an install, exiting the 57 freeway, my beloved Mk2’s rear brake pretty much blew up. Having not yet investigated the issue, what I do know is the caliper was thrown forward, shredding the brake line and crumpling the metal dust shield. Hopefully, it won’t be much of an issue to fix, but there’s a chance I’ll be on the lookout for a new daily driver.
