If you haven’t heard of Kreuzerfest, you need to wake up and smell the roses! For several years we’ve organized cruises to Waterfest and this year proved to be a special one thanks to the collaboration with Volkswagen of America. This year’s itinerary came a bit last minute but it didn’t stop around 70 cars from joining the fun. With nothing but clear skies and 90-degree temperatures in the forecast, our group congregated at VW and Audi North America headquarters in Herndon, VA. Every registered participant received a free t-shirt, door placard and complimentary breakfast courtesy of VW.
Once fed and fueled, we marched onto Englishtown, NJ where the drive was relaxing in between periods of moderate traffic. We have to thank the local Herndon police department for escorting the caravan out of VW headquarters helping to keep the entire group together. Upon arriving at the track, a eurotuner tradition continued with the parade laps around the road course. Around 20 participants decided to give it a shot putting their cars around some tight corners. Since we had several different skilled drivers, it was imperative to have a pace car which VW provided with its SEMA Tiguan project car and police-themed Passat wagon.
