I’m the new intern. Yep, that’s right, the guy to get the coffee, make copies, and clean the bathroom. Yeah…not so much. I am, however, a new member of the eurotuner team and will be here for a couple months contributing to the magazine that just last month, was something that I only read on a monthly basis as an avid fan. My name is Zack Williams and I am a current student at Pepperdine University studying television production. While a magazine may not be the first thing to come to mind when looking for an internship, I wanted to try to expand the verizon of my skill set to an area that allowed me to work with cars and get an immediate hands on experience. This is exactly what I am going to be doing here at eurotuner.

Prior to my first day, I had communicated often with Greg in order to set up my desk, computer, times, etc. He had informed me that everything was set for my first day and that all I should need was a pen and paper, and that the office was formal attire and to wear a jacket and tie. This was extremely surprising to me considering we were talking about a bunch of younger people who work with cars for a magazine…there was no way they wear jackets and ties everyday. But, me being the intern, I knew I had to do what was I was told, so sure enough I walked in the first day fully suited up. I had a feeling the whole time that Greg and the team were messing with me, so I had another set of clothes in the car just in case. Needless to say, I changed before I ever sat down at my desk. Speaking of my car, I suppose that is one of the main reasons I chose to email eurotuner about an internship position in the first place. I am an avid euro fan to begin with and have had my share of models in the past, ranging from a completely stock Volvo 850 to a Mk4 Jetta with full APR stage 3, Recaro interior, Brembo GT big brake kit, and the list could go on. Currently however, parked out back is a 2001 S4 sitting on extremely bright and shiny (mind you ugly and the wrong choice for that car) 19 inch chrome ASA’s. Now, driving an B5 S4 I thought I might get a little respect from Greg and the crew, but the first thing I heard when he took a peak at it was, “Please get that thing off our lot.” What!? “How dare you bring chrome wheels on an Audi here,” he continued. Wow, not even a mention of the completely blank canvas that my specific S4 presented. All joking aside, I know my wheels are hideous and I plan on changing them soon, but being a college student, you’ve got to give me a little credit for having some other priorities first. As far as what I am doing here goes, also on my first day, Greg handed a rundown for the upcoming August issue on which I was assigned a feature article to write, as well as two other sections. In between working on those, I have pretty much become the sole videographer and editor, understandable due to my studies, and have started putting together some footage from things in the current issue as well as next month’s issue. A few examples are already up, such as an Air Ride Installation and teaser to 24 Hours at Daytona found at http://www.eurotuner.com/videos/index.html Oh yeah, there is a little more too. On a more day to day basis, I will be working on shorter news stories for the website, including the few that have already been posted, such as Pirelli’s announcement of their GT3 tire, Aston Martin’s Rapide launch, Team Lotus’ new F1 merchandise, as well as a few others found here at http://www.eurotuner.com/auto_news/index.html All that being said, I am very excited to be here and look forward to the multitude of projects that I will be working on. This blog will probably be a weekly post, giving a little insight as to what they have me doing around here, other projects that I will be working on, and maybe even a place to bash on the team’s rides since clearly they hate on mine so much. What do I have to lose, they can’t really fire me from a job that I don’t have…HA!
