With Memorial Day weekend coming up, it’s estimated that 28 million people will be driving to their holiday destinations. With that in mind, we wanted to give you some tips from Tire Rack to have a safe drive and enjoy our holiday.

•    Take note of road conditions.
•    Slow down for construction areas, try to avoid damaging your car or tires by driving around potholes or puddles and slowing for uneven road surfaces.
•    Make sure you have the right tires and correct tire pressure. Different tires handle better or worse in some conditions.
•    Know what you will encounter and be prepared.
•    Ensure you are driving with the right tire pressure. Without doing so your tires can wear out faster, you car can lose handling, and you will suffer in gas mileage.
•    Replace balding tires. It is not unlikely that you will come across unexpected downpours. It has been proven that tires with insufficient tread take up to twice as far to stop.
•    Check your tires threads and replace them if you have approximately 4/32” or less of remaining tread.
