We expect several new cars to debut at this year’s Geneva show, but Hamann is already previewing its latest masterpiece. Nicknamed the Hamann Hawk, the German tuner has put its own personal touch on the Mercedes SLS AMG and finished the exterior in a Everose gold tone.
Already in its basis version, the SLS provides significant power, enough to scare the living daylights out of any driver. Hamann has tuned the V* with a titanium exhaust, new manifold and sportier air filter, along with software to produce 636hp and 501 lb-ft of torque.
But what Hamann is known for is its styling and this SLS boasts a new aerodynamics proven in wind tunnels. The Hawk has a replacement front bumper that reduces the uplifting forces at the front axle. Larger air inlets in connection with a new LED lights unit give the two-seater an even more dynamic look. In addition, the enlarged air inlets provide better access for the engine’s need for air. Subsequently, the air is drawn out of new hood made of carbon. Side skirts make the AMG look lower and underline the rims. In order to perfectly balance out the downforce of the front- and rear axle, Hamann gives the SLS a rear wing also made of carbon. The new rear apron with the diffuser enhances the flow under the bottom of the car and provides room for four enormous 90mm exhaust tips – all from Hamann.
