Remote-Controlled by iPhone, iPad or iPod touch
Griffin Technology has launched its newest AppPowered accessory, the HELO TC that might just be the coolest thing you can do with your iPhone.
It's a remote-controlled helicopter you control with your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch. By downloading the HELO TC app to your device, it transforms the Multi-Touch display of any Mac device into a remote control for HELO TC.
The HELO TC itself is a twin-rotored, indoor helicopter built on a lightweight metal frame with a black polycarbonate body.
Priced at $49.99, it comes with a Flight Deck infrared module, which plugs into your phone or iPad to transmit control signals to the helicopter.
Two modes of flight are available: Touch Control, using the Multi-Touch display to control the throttle and joystick; or Tilt to Steer mode, which uses the device's accelerometers: tilting the device moves the helicopter forward, back, or side to side. The app can record and store up to three Flight Plans so you, or another pilot, can repeat a favorite flight pattern easily.
HELO TC's built-in battery recharges from any USB power source. The Flight Deck module, powered by four AAA batteries, plugs into your phone's headphone jack.
HELO TC is currently available at www.griffintechnology.com and will distributed to nationwide retailers for the holiday season.
