In addition to being the best driving simulator on the market right now, Forza Motorsport 4 has a great paint program that allows you to create custom vehicles for you to race or trade online.
In eurotuner magazine, we run a number of challenges each year, inviting readers to Photoshop a photo we supply. The best images are then printed in the mag and displayed online at www.eurotuner.com - we also send a prize to our favorite entry.
This led to us asking readers to show us their best artwork from Forza 4, and James Martin from Devon, England sent us some great examples that will appear in the magazine soon.
James works in constructionbut is a Forza painter in his spare time. He's known by his gamertag "Me monkey 8 me" on Xbox Live, and started painting when he had Forza 3. Initially he developed some simple designs but has since moved onto trickier paint jobs as his confidence grew.
He's now a member of a car club called "garage redux" in Forza 4, where they create different paint schemes for the car. In the program, you're given up to 1000 layers on each side of the car to create your custom graphics and paint. By layering the shapes together you make the picture. Apparently, he uses gradient shapes a lot because they give add shading, which helps the picture look more realistic.
During our conversations with James, we mentioned it would be great if there was a eurotuner Magazine themed car we could use in the game. As a result, he's built this VW Golf R, complete with our eurotuner logo on the doors and roof.
The car has a ghosted VW logo, as well as our website address and logos for Brembo and Continental Tires. It sits on BBS wheels and has a large front splitter for extra downforce. James even tuned the car for you, so it should be fast out-of-the-box.
The best thing about the eurotuner Golf R is that James has kindly offered it free to anybody who wants to race it in Forza 4.
The car can be found in the game on James' storefront by using search words "eurotuner Golf" or his gamertag "Me monkey 8 me". The tuning is also offered for free, so don't forget to pick that up with the paint when you're in the store.
While you're there, take a look at the fantastic work James has created, as well as other members of garage redux.
