With the arrival of the new Aston Martin Cygnet, the company has embarked on a marketing campaign to convince everybody it's a great solution for premium city transport.Watch the videos here.
The first video looks at the construction of the supermini, which is based on the Toyota iQ, at its manufacturing facility in Gaydon, England. This is to allay fears that the car isn't simply rebadged. So it looks at the hand-stitched leather upholstery, the hand-sprayed bodywork and the new badges, etc.
The video certainly gives you the impression it follows Aston's tradition of building high quality machines by hand. Whether it convinces somebody to spend the extra money over the cost of a regular Toyota iQ is another matter.
The company is certainly hoping that the Chinese market will warm to its new car though, as the second video shows. It has been produced specifically for that market, presenting the car as upscale transport for the modern motorist in Hong Kong who seeks quality and individuality. It's a great looking video at the very least. Enjoy.
