To coincide with the launch of its new PlayStation Vita, Sony is publishing this fun title for the clever handheld device with its dual analog sticks, front and rear cameras, front multi-touch display, multi-touch rear pad, GPS, six-axis motion sensors and three-axis electronic compass.
Developed by WWS San Diego Studio, the new title is essentially a kart racing with more than 500,000 tracks available online.
ModNation Racers: Road Trip on the Vita has all the features that made the game a hit on the PS3 console but it’s been enhanced to operate with those PS Vita controls.
As before, you can customize both your karts and the tracks through the front-touch interface. The Draw Mode makes creating tracks as simple as dragging your finger on the screen and drawing the track you desire.
But if you don’t want to do all the work yourself, you can access more than half-a-million UGC tracks wherever you are.
And the game encourages you to exploit the Vita’s portability with ModExplorer that keeps track of the miles you travel and rewards you for it. When you take your Mods on the road, the Vita allows you to take photos with them in the foreground at exotic locations or local hangouts, then post them to Facebook. Check-in at pre-determined Points of Interests and unlock rare items that you can use in your personal creations.
We hope to have more information about both ModNation Racers: Road Trip and by PS Vita nearer the February 22 launch date for both the game and device.
