Jenson Button and Lewis Hamilton animated racing.
Amidst one of the most competitive Formula1 racing series in history, McLaren has decided to enjoy a bit of fun. Debuting their new web animation series, Tooned. Having heard rumors McLaren was developing an animation series while attending the last Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance, we were still surprised to see these episodes in our inbox.
Clever animation of the facilities, characters and light racing humor make this new series fun to watch no matter what age you are. It’s also great to see a serious engineering team like McLaren enjoy the lighter side of racing. Like anything at McLaren, when they want to do something they want to do it 100%, this animation series is such an example.
Episode 1: Wheel Nuts, introduces team drivers Jenson Button (as himself) and Lewis Hamilton (as himself) inside McLaren headquarters underground racetrack. Naturally, competition ensues as Hamilton looses out in the first session of a test vehicle, developing a unique competitor car to take on Jenson.
Episode 2: Teammates, Jenson and Hamilton, take part in testing new safety features developed by Professor M (played by Alexander Armstrong). During testing you will find Jenson tweeting during 10g’s in the G-Suit. The pit team moves in record time, yet again, to make sure the pair is ready for any occasion, including a night out on the town.
