With the rising popularity of old school sports car and sports sedans such as the 930 and 964 models of the Porsche 911, the team at HRE Wheels is right on the money with this super-cool collection of retro-styled wheels.
The new HRE 501 mesh and 505 five-spoke wheels are both classic reinterpretations of classic wheel designs, while the 454 reminds us of early Lamborghini rims.
The three designs have been taken from HRE’s 34-year history, completely re-engineered for today with modern three-piece forged wheel technology to be used on today’s sports- and supercars.
“The process of recreating vintage designs was exciting and challenging for all of us at HRE,” said company president Alan Peltier. “These designs take us back to the ’70s and ’80s when we were falling in love with exotics for the first time. Capturing the character and magic of these designs, while ensuring they fit modern supercars and meet current engineering standards, made the project tougher than simply creating replicas of the original cast wheels.”
All three models in HRE’s Vintage Series are machined from aerospace-grade forged alloy and hand-finished to the customer’s specifications. Models are available in 18-20” diameters with widths ranging from 7-14”.
Almost unlimited finish options are available, from classic gold, bronze and polished centers and rims to hand-brushing and tinted colors.
